Trekking Yaegl country on northern NSW coast

by Fiona Harper

Trekking northern NSW on the Yuraygir Coastal Walk is a 32km easy trek, best tackled over around four days, between Coffs Harbour and Yamba.

With strong connections to indigenous traditional lands, and home to the rare and endangered coastal emu, the trail runs through Yuraygir National Park. Small coastal hamlets like Wooli and Minne Waters provide options to restock provisions or luxuriate in caravan park showers.

Skirting the dunes and skimming long stretches of uninterrupted beach, Fiona Harper tossed a pack upon her back to find out what all the fuss is about Yaegl Country on the northern New South Wales coast. Enjoy the image gallery of this coastal hike!
